Bael is acknowledged as the preeminent figure of the Ars Goetia and the principal monarch of Hell, governing the East and leading the infernal forces. He is the first of the 72 Spirits of King Solomon, governing 66 legions of demons and spirits.
Baal/Bael is depicted in various forms. His earliest representation is that of an ancient pagan deity of fertility, worshiped by some of the oldest civilizations, including the Sumerians, Babylonians, Phoenicians (also known as Canaanites), Israelites, Egyptians, among others. As a pagan god, Baal is portrayed as a powerful man with the head of a bull and feathered wings.
In this form, Baal may wield lightning, reminiscent of Zeus. He also manifests as a brazen bull or a golden calf idol and can appear as a man.
While his Semitic predecessor was depicted as a man or a bull, the demon Bael, according to grimoire tradition, appears as a man, cat, toad, or combinations thereof, with the appearance of a king or soldier or with the heads of these three creatures on spider legs. He speaks with a hoarse voice.
He has the ability to make his summoner invisible.
Bael is the Lord of storms, wind, rain, air, and fertility. He assumes various forms and possesses the power to make those who invoke him invisible and cunning, granting wisdom. He offers assistance in astral travel and provides accurate answers to questions.

History of Bael
Bael was among the high-ranking angels who aligned with Lucifer during the War in Heaven, resulting in his banishment to the abyss, later known as Hell, along with his fallen comrades. Although his specific activities in Heaven were unknown, but according to Zohar, Bael held a rank comparable to that of the Archangel Raphael.
In Canaanite tradition, Baal was regarded as the son of El, the Supreme God of Canaan, and was venerated as the lord of life, overseeing the cycle of death and rebirth.
In ancient mythological times preceding the Great Flood, the Book of Enoch describes a War in Heaven where God and His loyal angels, led by the Archangel Michael, confronted a faction of rebellious angels who coveted human women and descended to Earth. These angels were breeding a race of giants and imparting forbidden knowledge of sorcery and magic to humans.
The Book of Enoch further recounts that the four Great Archangels—Michael, Raphael, Gabriel, and Auriel or Uriel (Phaniel)—descended and imprisoned these Fallen Angels at the Four Corners of the Earth, where they became known as "The Watchers."
Consequently, their chief adversary, the Canaanite thunder god Prince Ba'al, was transformed into the demon Bael, becoming the foremost among the fallen. He was said to manifest as a cat, a toad, a man, or all three simultaneously, and was believed to bestow the power of invisibility.
Following the establishment of the infernal hierarchy, Bael became a Duke of Hell, commanding 66 legions of demons.

Power and Abilities
Baal, recognized as a king, is attributed with imparting scientific knowledge, bestowing invisibility, and controlling between 66 and 250 legions of spirits. According to Francis Barrett, Baal has the power to make those who summon him invisible.
In subsequent editions of the Grimoire of Pope Honorius, Bael is categorized under Astaroth as a prince, possessing abilities such as invisibility and the enhancement of popularity.
Thomas Rudd notes that Bael is opposed by the Shemhamphorasch angel Vehuiah, while the Grand Grimoire suggests he serves directly under Lucifuge.
Certain sources claim that Bael can impart wisdom, speaks with a hoarse voice, and possesses ashes along with necromantic capabilities.
As a deity, Baal is linked to rain, storms, fertility, and abundant harvests. He wields the power of lightning, like Zeus.
Bael is identified as the first spirit in the Ars Goetia, often described as having the ability to confer wisdom, render individuals invisible, or teach invisibility.
Baal has the capability to shapeshift and teach shapeshifting through dreams. He also possesses necromantic powers and can educate others in this art.

It is said that Baal’s powers are particularly strong in October.

Guidelines for Evoking Bael
Bael is a spirit known for its shape-shifting abilities, symbolized by the cat (representing stealth and instinct) and the toad (associated with Ahriman, a portal for self-initiation in Devil or Anglican Witchcraft traditions).
When summoning Bael, it is essential to perform the ritual within an evocation circle. Within this circle, absorb the spirit's essence and concentrate your mind to align with and integrate the spirit's anthropomorphic identity until "he" becomes part of you. This process will enhance your dream shape-shifting capabilities. The 66 legions of spirit familiars can be commanded by will to gain the knowledge you desire. Bael is a potent familiar spirit that can offer instinctual insights concerning animals and dream shape-shifting.
To invoke this entity, approach with respect and a clear purpose. Experts advise that the ritual aims to attract the demon's attributes and energies.
Conduct the ritual in a quiet location where you will not be disturbed. Although nighttime is preferable, it is not mandatory.

When the demon feels secure, it will begin to communicate with you. This communication may manifest in various forms, such as mental images, movement of objects, or even inner voices. Initially, this process might take some time and may be somewhat confusing. If there is no response, attempt the ritual again later.
Once contact with the demon has been established, it is unnecessary to repeat the ritual. Store the scroll bearing the demon's symbol in a secure location and treat it with respect.
To conclude the ritual, extinguish the incense and candle, and remove the protective symbol from your hand.
